How Door Swing Works

You have two choices for how your door swings:

Inswing vs. Outswing — Most homeowners choose inswing, where the door opens toward the interior of the home. We can also build jambs for outswing doors that open toward the exterior — this is typical for commercial applications, or whenever your project requires it.

Left-Hand vs. Right-Hand — The layout of your installation site determines this. To figure out which you need, imagine standing on the street looking at the door. If the pivot point (the hinge side) is on the left, you need a left-hand swing. If the pivot point is on the right, you need a right-hand swing.
